Stella Pankratz received her degree as Registered.Nurse from the University of Saskatchewan; and followed this with her Bachelor of .Science Nursing from the University of Alberta. Pankratz was first employed as a staff nurse at St. Margaret's Hospital, Biggar and then at Rosthem Union Hospital, Saskatchewan. She has also been head nurse at Glenrose Provincial Hospital in Edmonton.
