Evelyn Blanche Norgord was born on September 24, 1899. Evelyn's parents Harvor and Betty Norgord immigrated from Chicago, Illinois to a homestead forty miles from Davidson, Saskatchewan. Evelyn Norgard entered the teaching profession in 1920 and continued until 1968 when she retired after forty-seven years. She taught grade three and four in Biggar from 1927 to 1968.

Evelyn was a member of the Stagettes and the founder of the Milk for Britain Fund.
