Milner Greenhouses Ltd. acquired the Micro Grow Nurseries of Biggar which were operated by Microgro International Research Inc. Marc and Diane Shane set up Milner Greenhouses in Milner, British Columbia in 1988. In 2000 Milner Greenhouses registered a certificate of incorporation under the Business Corporations Act. The operation expanded from their first cold frame to 31 acres of greenhouses combined with an additional 12 acres making it amongst the biggest greenhouse operations in BC. The largest greenhouse of Saskatchewan located in Biggar, Saskatchewan is also owned by Milner Greenhouses which offers eight acres and employs approximately 100 persons at the height of production. Milner Greenhouses specialize in bedding plants, some vegetables and seed supply which they export domestically. Graham Dorn who was instrumental in setting up Micro Grow Nurseries is the key contact for Milner Greenhouses Ltd.
