Gleave, AlfredThis is a featured page

Alfred Gleave was an activist to promote a strong voice for Canadian Farmers. He farmed near Biggar, Sask and was active with the Sask Farmers Union, Canadian Wheat Board, Farm Credit Union, Sask Power and Canadian Co-operative Implements Ltd. In 1965, he entered Federal politics, and was mp in the 1968 and 1971 terms of office. A quote from his 1991 book United we Stand is in this news article: "At the beginning of the century, the people who came to the Prairies, those who followed them, the next generation such as myself, made a more secure and bountiful life for themselves by working together, by sharing the load."
