Deltra Eamon Aleida, once a student of Mrs. McKenzie, was a graduate of the Royal Conservatory and the University of Toronto. Her first big break came with a principle role with the Tennessee Ernie Ford weekly TV show which she held for five years. She has appeared in Canada, Japan, USA, Mexico,Brazil, Venezuela, England, Greece, Italy and Australia, captivating audiences and critics alike with her charming presence and lustrous voice. She has toured with Danny Kaye, Roger Wagner Chorale and Victor Borge and has stared in many light opera productions including Carousel, Brigadoon, Oklahoma, My Fair Lady and Showboat. Her husband Laurindo Almeida was a world renowned guitarist whom she married in 1971. Almeida passed away in 1995 at the age of 78 leaving behind two children and his wife. In 2004, Eamon was a resident of Sherman Oakes, California, USA.

Deltra is the daughter of the late Harry G. and Constance (Horsman) Eamon of Biggar.
