Thie Biggar Historical Timeline is created from the headlines and news stories which were printed in The Independent newspaper, Biggar, Saskatchewan during the various periods which the timeline covers.

Unfortunately, for the early years of Biggar many of the newspapers have not survived. It is not until the 1940's when most the newspapers printed began to be preserved and later microfilmed.
