The Biggar Funeral Home Ltd. was initiated by Mr. Harry Wright. Wright is said to have had some experience in the Funeral service industry before leaving Ontario, however when arriving in Biggar operated the Cunningham and Lang Staff Livery Barn. It was in 1930, that Wright purchased property on Second Avenue for the Biggar Funeral Home. Wright operated the Funeral Home for the initial four years, and then upon his death, Wright's sister Anne operated the funeral home for the next thirteen

years. On January 30, 1947, Charles Pettegrew purchased the Funeral Home and continued to operate it until 1960 when Pettegrew was bought out by Rae Murdock. Murdock added an ambulance service to the Biggar Funeral Home at this time. When Murdock returned to the city of Saskatoon in 1963, Mr Stan J. Grondin and his wife Mrs Lorraine Grondin purchased the Biggar Funeral Home. Both Murdock and Grondin had apprenticed in Moose Jaw before coming to Biggar. The Grondin's operated the Biggar Funeral Home and ambulance service until 1973 when the Biggar Union Hospital bought the Ambulance service.
