The A.F. Welter General Store opened in Biggar on May 27th, 1909. The store carried a first class general stock which included groceries, dry goods, boots, shoes and clothing. He offered delivery to local patrons. Mr. Welter came to Biggar from Humboldt where he had worked for T. McLaughlin, in his general store.
